SUEZ strengthens its position in the production of sustainable energy with four new energy from waste plants in Europe (3 in the UK and 1 in Poland) that will handle an additional 1.2 million tonnes of residual waste. In 2017, SUEZ will recover more than 9 million tonnes of waste in 55 Energy-from-Waste (EfW) plants in Europe. Seven TWh of energy will be sold, which is the equivalent of the annual consumption of a city with two million inhabitants, such as Vienna, Hamburg or Bucharest, and will avoid more than 1.5 million tonnes of CO² emissions. Residual waste cannot be viably recycled, but represents an important source of energy and a sustainable alternative to fossil fuels. In EfW plants located within the territories, it can be transformed into electricity, heat or steam to su...

EFF (electrical power for free ) We are aiming at developing new electricity resources that are cheap, efficient and green, so our project is generating electrical power by using three kinds of motion in streets by converting the wasted kinetic energy to useful electrical energy that can face the shortage of electrical energy nowadays, work as resources to lighten highways, traffic lights and nearby houses .It can also be developed to serve the private sectors efficiently. Our project is divided into 3 sections : 1. Generating electric power from car motion in roads, highways by using different mechanisms. 2. Generating electric power from train motion over railways. 3. Generating electric power by using the motion of pedestrians in crowded.
What do your out of order electric and electronic appliance become? Find out how they are collected and treated on specialized sites. Objective: prevent risks of pollution from those uncommon waste and give them a second life as mater or energy.

11,000 litres of water are required to produce a pair of jeans. A sheet of recycled paper saves 1 litre of water, corresponding to 2.5 W of electricity or 15g of wood. Discover surprising figures images that make us aware of major planetary issues concerning water and waste.
Gateshead's non-recyclable waste will, from 2014, go to a new plant on Teeside where it will be burnt by Sita to generate electricity. This will be a state-of-the-art plant and will mean waste we cannot recycle will no longer go to landfill. This video was filmed at the plant built by Sita for Northumberland's waste. The plant for Gateshead will be very similar and will be on a neighbouring site.
How to transform the wastewaters into BioLNG, a liquid biofuel. The liquid biofuel (BioLNG) is a renewable energy that is easy to store and transport. BIOGNVAL is a project managed in partnership with the Inter-departmental Syndicate for the Sanitation of the Paris conurbation (SIAAP) to transform the wastewaters of Paris area into BioLNG, a liquid biofuel. The Vernéa facility treats household waste from the Puy-de-Dôme and Northern Haute-Loire Departments in France. Depending on the nature of the waste, the unit recovers it in three forms: electricity, biogas and agricultural compost, and materials that can be used in steelworks or for construction works. Thanks to this system, the 230,000 tonnes of waste collected in this area every year have seen their recovery ratio increase from 35 to 70% (2013).

Under patronage of the President of Egypt, Siemens and ELSEWEDY ELECTRIC celebrated the completion of ATTAQA Simple Cycle Power Plant ahead of schedule. The plant – including all of its gas turbine generation units – was constructed in a record time of six months from groundbreaking to first commercial operation. The first Siemens gas turbine generation package in ATTAQA generated electricity to the grid after 159 days - a world record for a project of this scale. Located near Suez city, Attaqa is Egypt’s first fully grid-connected fast-track power plant. The plant will help provide much-needed electricity supplies for around 620,000 households.
